Liberty Excess & Surplus, Inc. was incorporated and licensed in 1994. In addition we have also obtained surplus lines licenses for the states of New Jersey and Delaware to better serve our agents and brokers.
We have binding contracts with A+ Rated carriers in-house allowing us the ability to quote and bind risks quickly. In addition, we have brokerage contracts with A+ Rated carriers whose response time is approximately 48 hours.
Classes of business written consist of a long list of Excess & Surplus business. Binding contracts obtained with admitted carriers for standard business can also be written. BOP's are available. Specialty classes include the following: restaurants, taverns, bars and pizza parlors. Special exclusive programs are available for qualifying risks and habitational risks: i.e. apartments and condominiums.
Our underwriters are available via phone, email or fax to answer your questions on any risk. We specialize in difficult to place risks. We have an appetite and thirst for restaurants and bars. Liberty Excess & Surplus, Inc. will provide you with the most competitive premiums and broadest coverage available for your clients. All risks will be considered; quotes will be provided in a timely fashion. We have been providing coverage for small pizza parlors and large fine dining restaurants, as well as, neighborhood taverns and bars both with admitted and non-admitted carriers. Liquor liability and assault & battery coverage is available for qualifying risks.
Michelle S. Linsalata, President
After earning her degree from Villanova University in 1979, Ms. Linsalata pursued a career in the insurance field. With three and a half decades of experience, she is able to bring a specialized set of skills to her position as president of Liberty Excess & Surplus, Inc., a role she has held for more than half of her professional career. Michelle Linsalata is a member of the Agents Advisory Council for Utica First Insurance Company, a carrier which specializes in writing restaurants and taverns. She has been instrumental in marketing specialty programs to carriers during her career. She has also sponsored the Conifer Insurance Company in four states: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware. Due to her expertise, Ms. Linsalata was granted the exclusive privilege to write and produce restaurant and tavern business policies for Conifer Insurance Company.
Ms. Linsalata applies her vast knowledge of property and casualty services to a variety of tasks on behalf of Liberty Excess & Surplus, such as underwriting, accounting, and new contract placements. Michelle continues to educate herself to be current in this ever-changing insurance industry. Even in a difficult market, she is always able to secure the best markets for her clients. She has access to markets that other companies do not, and she prides herself on maintaining great relationships with insurance carriers. Looking forward, Ms. Linsalata will continually educate her staff, which will enable her to pursue additional markets and expand her client base.
